Jamaican activist

A people without there history is like a tree without its roots".

Dr. Julius Winston Garvey

We have to take responsibility for our own education".
Marcus Garvey was a Jamaican-born political leader, publisher, and visionary who became one of the most influential voices for Black pride and pan-Africanism in the 20th century. He founded the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) in 1914, aiming to unite people of African descent worldwide and promote self-reliance, economic independence, and racial dignity. Garvey's message of "Africa for the Africans" inspired millions, and his bold vision included the establishment of Black-owned businesses and the creation of the Black Star Line, a shipping company intended to facilitate the return of the African diaspora to their ancestral homeland. Though later imprisoned in the U.S. On controversial mail fraud charges, his legacy endured. Garvey’s ideas laid the groundwork for future civil rights and Black empowerment movements, influencing figures such as Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. He is now recognised as Jamaica’s first National Hero.

Dr. Julius Winston Garvey, the youngest son of Marcus Garvey, has been actively carrying on his father’s legacy, though in a updated and evolved form. Julius Garvey has worked primarily through education, advocacy, and public speaking.
